Day 1: Arrival in El Calafate

Your Patagonian adventure begins as you arrive at El Calafate Airport. A friendly driver will be waiting to greet you and escort you on a short 20-minute drive to your hotel. After settling in, take some time to explore the charming town of El Calafate at your leisure.

Day 2: Explore Perito Moreno Glacier

After breakfast, embark on an 80-kilometer journey to Los Glaciares National Park to witness the awe-inspiring Perito Moreno Glacier. Unlike most glaciers worldwide, this one is still advancing, and you may witness massive icebergs calving into Lago Argentino. After exploring the glacier's surroundings, return to your hotel in El Calafate for the night.

Day 3: Journey to El Chalten

Following breakfast, enjoy a scenic three-hour bus ride through the rugged beauty of southern Argentina to El Chalten, a picturesque mountain village nestled beneath the towering Andes peaks. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and explore the town's vibrant atmosphere. At 7:00 PM, meet your expert guide for a comprehensive briefing on the exciting expedition ahead.

Day 4: Hike to Laguna Torre

Distance: 18 km (11 miles), Elevation Gain: 500 m (1,600 ft), Duration: 6-7 hours.
Embark on a classic Patagonian hike to Laguna Torre, a glacial lake renowned for its stunning views of the iconic Cerro Torre. The trail meanders through ancient forests and open valleys, offering glimpses of the Fitz Roy River and surrounding peaks. As you approach the lake, the dramatic spire of Cerro Torre comes into view, reflected in the icy waters?a sight that epitomizes Patagonia's wild beauty.

Day 5: Trek to Laguna de los Tres

Distance: 23 km (14 miles), Elevation Gain: 800 m (2,400 ft), Duration: 8-9 hours.
Today's adventure leads you to Laguna de los Tres, offering unparalleled views of Mount Fitz Roy and its surrounding glaciers. A shuttle transports you to the trailhead at El Pilar, allowing for a varied route through diverse terrains. The trail ascends gradually through lenga forests, culminating in a steep climb to the lagoon. At the summit, marvel at the turquoise waters set against Fitz Roy's towering granite peaks?a truly unforgettable panorama.

Day 6: Begin Huemul Circuit - El Chalten to Laguna Toro

Distance: 16 km (10 miles), Elevation Gain: 600 m (1,968 ft), Duration: 6-7 hours.
The Huemul Circuit commences in El Chalten with a gradual ascent through lush lenga forests, opening up to expansive meadows showcasing Patagonia's wild beauty. As you ascend, Cerro Torre looms larger in the distance, offering stunning photo opportunities. The path leads to the Tunel River, where, depending on water levels, a Tyrolean traverse may be required. After crossing, continue through rolling hills toward the tranquil Laguna Toro, your campsite for the night.

Day 7: Trek from Laguna Toro to Paso del Viento

Distance: 12 km (7.5 miles), Elevation Gain: 900 m (2,953 ft), Duration: 6-8 hours.
Day two presents one of the trek's more challenging sections. It begins with an early river crossing and continues with a steep climb up the slopes toward Paso del Viento (Pass of the Wind). The ascent over loose scree fields tests your stamina and balance. The effort is rewarded with breathtaking views of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, one of the world's largest ice fields. After taking in the panoramic views, descend slightly to the designated camping area near Refugio Paso del Viento.

Day 8: Traverse from Paso del Viento to Paso Huemul

Distance: 18 km (11 miles), Elevation Gain: 600 m (1,968 ft) ascent, 700 m (2,297 ft) descent, Duration: 7?9 hours.
Day three takes you along dramatic ridges and moraines, offering some of Patagonia's most incredible glacier and peak views. The landscape transforms with vast ice fields and towering mountains surrounding you. Begin with a steep ascent toward Paso Huemul, where sweeping views of Viedma Glacier and Lago Viedma await. After absorbing the scene, descend toward the Bahia de los Tempanos campsite, where the sound of glaciers calving into the water enhances the peaceful atmosphere.

Day 9: Descend to Bahia Tunel and Return to El Calafate

Distance: 18 km (11 miles), Elevation Gain/Loss: 427 m (1,400 ft) ascent/descent, Duration: 5-6 hours.
On the final day of your trek, descend from Paso Huemul along rugged trails offering breathtaking views of Lago Viedma's icy expanse. The path winds through rolling hills and rocky outcrops, requiring careful footing as you approach Bahia Tunel. A second Tyrolean traverse adds a final touch of adventure before completing the trail. In the afternoon, a bus transports you from El Chalten back to El Calafate for your last night.
